Dear Colleagues,

Following are the minutes of the Tuesday meeting held on 29th Aug., 2006:

14 magnet tests completed

7– Dipoles (2274>9 Ramps-standby, 1367 HV Problem)

4- Arc SSS tested (318, 313, 345, 140)

1 - 500 series (510 OK, 1 time mechanical problem)

and 2 - 600 series - 660 (148 hrs), 625 (140 hrs)

Test Co-ordinator: Vittorio. Equipment Support: 16-3602 Richard

1. New magnet 680 is likely to be put till tomorrow on D2 bench.

2. Richard will fix the HV problem of magnet 1367.

3. Louis pointed that 2274 may have been put for ROBTC. Nick suggested that operation team should follow only as per the training rule, unless some special circumstances are there.

4. Nick pointed out the mechanical problem in magnet 510 was due to current lead.

5. Erik informed that magnet 501 came with line N closed on bench B2. CFB will be modified to accept this specific magnet. This modification may take one day time. Nick pointed out that magnet should be put as per the compatibility of the benches instead of wasting time in modifications in other benches.

6. Erik informed that cryo problem in magnet 1346 on F2 bench is solved on Monday 17:00 hrs and magnet 662 has leak problem & will be removed from the bench D1.

7. It is decided in the meeting held on 22th Aug. 2006 that the equipment support persons who is called by operation team, his name should be mentioned clearly by operation team in E-logbook at every time. It is the responsibility of Equipment support’s person to mention about his arrival, departure and description about the problem he attended in E-logbook at every time.

Main problems in last week discussed by op-team

1. Cryo Problem: Due to frequent cryo problem tests were affected.

2. ICS Delay: Maximum 6 magnet change is possible in a day. Delay in removal of magnet 516, wp17 on C2 bench was completed after 2 days. Nick informed that out of 3 only 2 people are available from ICS and some times only one person is observed. Its supervisor may be contacted. Due to cryo & ICS problem there is not enough work for op-team.

3. On D1 permanent trigger in V-clamp Ext was there. It was due to ICS connection problem and solved.

4. Water leakage & condensation is observed in cluster B.

5. On cluster E the display of High Current Blinking Lamp and value of the current is not coming while training. Voltmeter used for minimum energy test was not functioning on F cluster. Equipment support team is solving this problem.

6. Ice was observed on G, H, I, J dipole corrector feed through on D1 bench.

7. Due to moisture problem in C1 bench corrector powering was not completed after removing these moisture by using blower this problem is solved. It is advisable to check for any moisture at CFB before doing any test.

8. The magnet 318 on B1 was signed for warm-up before removal of shaft. Cryo team has done break vacuum without taking clearance from op-team. Hence there was a chance of damage of shaft. So it is advisable that to inform cryo team personally not to break the vacuum at the start of warming up whenever it is foreseen that the shaft should be removed at warm.

Have a nice week ahead.

With Best Regards

Dear Colleagues,

Following are the minutes of the Tuesday meeting held on 05th September, 2006:

During the last one week (35th week)

à Total 15 magnet tests have been completed.

8 – Dipoles (standby for 1346, 9 ramps during training),

4 - Arc SSS (all stripped),

0 - 500 series

and 3 - 600 series (665 (111 hrs), 662 (141hrs), 667(95hrs)).

à This week Nick will be the Test Co-ordinator

and Guy & Frederico for Equipment Support.

à Nick has mentioned about the S4 magnet on TBD2 (SSS680 correctors are in series) which has gone through single stretched wire tests at 400A, 200A & 26A. Some file problems were faced during Monday night. They have been rectified by Giorgio and Richard. Walkiers insisted the urgency of this magnet in the tunnel to complete one sector. It has to be trained for both apertures and has to warmed up by tonight so that to meet its target date of 10th Sep. in the tunnel.

à Nick reported about the delay in connection & disconnection of magnets by ICS.

à Halik mentioned that in TBD1, SSS526 will be put next. And in TBD2, the next magnet will be SSS608.

à Lionel mentioned about cryo leak problem on C1 bench (bellow) which got rectified on Monday.

à Stephane mentioned that the magnetic measurements on dipoles will be reviewed and the shift leaders will be informed about this.

à Stephane mentioned about some of the problems faced last week and the measures taken to solve them.

v MB1346: HV(CDBP) failed for TT821 sensor vs. GND. This was signed for standby and removed.

v MB1305 (TBE2) Anomalous QH discharge on 3rd training, signed for standby. Boris will look into this aspect.

v On Thursday (31/8) cryo-liquefactor problem on all benches due to alarm threshold problem. Lionel rectified the problem.

v TBB2-SSS310: TCLaux_X2 error reported by PLCSE. Lionel suggested to check the level of cryo fluid in this case. (This is noticed in B-cluster)

à Sampath informed about the anomaly in resistance measurements on 501, 513 series and their respective templates. It seemed the polarities were reversed. Data is not available in MTF. It has been suggested that 904 has to update MTF before magnet arrives sm18.

Have a pleasant week ahead.

Best Regards
