Dear Colleagues,

Following are the main points discussed in today's meeting (Tuesday, 28th March 2006):

Test Coordinator : M.Buzio

Equipment Support : G. Deferne

Total complete magnet tests: 15 (16th magnet : 2278 ROBTC)

Dipoles : 9

ARC-SSS : 4

IR-SSS : 2

. Guy told that Stretch Wire on TBD1 (S620) is finished and J Halik said that his team will insert shafts. AB- PO performed calibration of 120A PS and corrector powering has been done on S620.

. J Halik informed that S655 has been put on D2. S506 will be put on B1 this afternoon. He told that he has been asked to put S627 and S672 for testing on the benches on priority basis.

. Eric pointed out that during IAP and training quench there were errors on I_max and V_init. Guy told that he observed that the quench heaters were taking more than an hour to charge and hence changed the quench heater power supply for the cluster E. Marylene will provide a table with new tolerance values for quench heaters, which will be displayed in the control room.

. Water leak was observed on C bench, Guy tightened the knobs and it took care of the problem. Giorgio told that he can be contacted for minor leaks and in case of major water leaks 77777 (TCR) should be contacted.

. Eric emphasized up on co ordination between the operation, mechanical and cryo teams, more so while working with S4, to avoid time loss. J Halik told that his team has the permission to sign traveler on behalf of MTM and ICS as far as mechanical issues are concerned.

. In case of AQA errors, Giorgio insisted that TC or Pierre Pugnat has to be contacted immediately before proceeding with further tests.

. Giorgio and Marylene suggested that OP team should take care to remove connector D20 during HV tests, as failing to do so can damage the potaim cards.

. Eric conveyed to the operation team that as soon as the magnet is connected to the bench, make the corresponding bench as active and check for triggers in the potaim cards, as these triggers can prevent the HF and LF DAQ from arming, especailly for the V_Clamp check.

. Marylene requested the OP team to charge the MOBIC unit when not in use and reset the unit in case of problems.

. Marco Buzio clarified that in case a magnet quenches during plateau at 12K, the OP team has to do one more plateau at 12K and if the results are OK, proceed further.

. The equipment support team insisted on doing HV test on S620 after every quench in order to rule out degradation of insulation as a result of the quench.

. Eric informed that the paper traveller has been modified so that there is only one field to be signed after the warm tests instead of the earlier three and all the fields in which the operator has to sign (like the important one after 13.1 and 13.2) have been labelled as ‘Supervisor MTM’.

That is all for this week.

Have a successful week ahead!

With warm regards,

RAGHUNATHAN Sampathkumar.
