Dear Colleagues

Please find here the highlights of today’s meeting as given below:

Highlights of SM18 operation meeting held on 28th February 2006 (Tuesday)

Test Coordinator: Marco

Equipment Support: Maryline

· In the last week (from 20-02-2006 to 26-02-2006) 15 Magnet Test cycles were completed. These include Seven Dipoles, Six Arc SSS, One 500 series SSS and One IRSSS 2nd RUN.

· For SSS610 A. Siemko suggested to sign “warm-up” instead of “thermal cycle” as the “warm-up” requires “break vacuum” to be signed while thermal cycle is manual.

· Jerzy Halik informed that two Q9 magnets to come on bench are SSS620 with SSW and shaft on TBD2 and SSS636 without anticryostat on TBD1.

· Giorgio was requested to standardize the inductance and resistance values for corrector powering (particularly for EF powering) to avoid trial and error method used presently which consumes lot of time.

· Patrick was requested to make paper traveler more clarified for understanding of OP team.

· Magnet MBBL1166 was though signed for STRIPPING still somewhere at some places STANDBY appears and needs to be resolved.

· The MTR for SSS608 is missing since last week. Now it has been found in different folder.

· SSS298 on TBC1 took long time on bench as insulation test at cold initial failed and needed investigation. The magnet was removed without cold test.

· All HV test on 500/600 series SSS should be done by MTM OP team because ICS are not equipped to do the HV tests on special SSS as they do on Dipole and ARC SSS. So far Mathias used to do HV tests on special SSS.

The followings are the highlights of OP issues in the last week:

---On Tuesday 21st Feb Afternoon on TBB one quench heater was broken. Richard replaced the dummy resistance panel and the second capacitor bank.

---On Tuesday 21st Feb Afternoon on TBB2 magnet barcode of SSS087 was not correct. ICS corrected the mistake.

---On Tuesday 21st Feb Afternoon on TBB1 for SSS093, the tests for GH and IJ Powering were missing at the time of generating the CQPT.xls file. These tests were added manually.

---On Tuesday 21st Feb Afternoon on TBE2 for MBBL 1166, there was problem in launching PT6.1 as assignment of quench heater power supply was missing from database. Federico solved the problem.

---On Tuesday 21st Feb Night on TBF2 for MBAL2168, there was an over range errors in MM3 LHC_Cucle_PF_800_X2.tst. Nicholas was informed. Nicholas wanted to repeat the measurement after fixing the problem.

---On Tuesday 21st Feb Night on TBA1 for MBBR2295, WP04 was not traceable though ICS informed of its completion. Richard told that there is no need to repeat the test again in such cases and only the file can be exported again.

---On Wednesday 22nd Feb Morning on TBF2 for MBAL2168, Stephane checked the machine cycle of last night. There was an over-range in sector 01 ap1. Federico checked. Shaft was OK. TRU was changed and aligned.

---On Wednesday 22nd Feb Afternoon on TBC1 for SSS298, after warm up insulation test again conducted by Richard with Nitrogen purging of the current leads. It failed. Magnet was put on STANDBY and removed from bench. A. Siemko advised to keep the magnet at SM18 Hall after removal from bench for further investigations.

---On Wednesday 22nd Feb Afternoon on TBD1 for SSS610 there was no temperature data in Prep 2.2. Mathias and Richard confirmed the OK for the cooling down. There was no reading of TT821 at 1.9K on Monday 27th Feb Afternoon. NC opened by Maryline (no coefficients in MTF).

---On Wednesday 22nd Feb Night on TBD2 for SSS508, OP team observed that quench heater configuration was different. Equipment support was contacted.

---On Thursday 23rd Feb Morning on TBD2 for SSS508, it was not possible to launch CD powering corrector (MQS, MQTL, MS). Federico solved the problem.

---On Thursday 23rd Feb Night on TBB2 for SSS087, Power Converter for EF powering not working. Equipment support was informed. There was fault condition on the 600A Power Supply of EF corrector (Main inverter) and the choice for the inductance of the MO corrector was wrong.

---On Thursday 23rd Feb Night on TBC1 for SSS299 there was error in Prep 2.2 IAP in QH values. Imax and Rinit of both QH were giving errors. Federico was contacted and he advised to repeat.

---On Thursday 23rd Feb Night on TBD2 for SSS508, there was quench in Ext_Busbar during PT8.1. Cryo was informed. Level of He in the current leads has been increased to 80%.

---On Friday 24th Feb Morning on TBA1 for MBBR2295, TT821 was giving wrong temperature value T = 1.776 during PT4. Equipment support was informed. HWREC pointer was wrong.

---On Friday 24th Feb Afternoon on TBC2 for SSS186, IAP at cold could not be launched. Interconnection box was blocked. Guy came and reset the PLCSE.

---On Saturday 25th Feb Morning on TBD1 for SSS610, during IAP at cold it was unable to perform AC compensation of Ext_NQM_MQML and Int_MQML_MQM. Equipment support was informed. Tolerances were enlarged.

---On Saturday 25th Feb Morning on TBD2 for SSS508, HV test at Warm after cold test is missing. Equipment support contacted ICS and advised ICS team to do the test and upload the result file in the proper folder. Test was done but not OK. Problem solved by Equipment Support by changing the capacitance limits.

---On Saturday 25th Feb Morning on TBA2 for MB2142 it was unable to scan the magnet name. Equipment support was contacted. Magnet already attached in the LHC ring.

---On Saturday 25th Feb Night on TBD1 for SSS610, PT4 could not be launched because quench heaters were not getting charged and there were many triggers on potaim cards (VClamp D, VClamp F, Vsum int Sext, MX Ext-Int). Equipment support was informed. Correctors are not powered for SSS610. The switch of Plexiglas door was not pushed in. The screw needed to be tied. OK by Federico.

---On Sunday 26th Feb Night on TBE2 for MB1037, Temperature reading of TT821 was not correct. Origin is to be checked by Maryline.

---On Monday 27th Feb Morning on TBA2 for MB2142, Anticryostat heating is not working but cooling down was launched. Anticryostat was at -20C. There were two problems. Heating cable was not connected and coefficients not updated in MTF.

--- On Monday 27th Feb Afternoon on TBF1 for MB1526, WP04 (HV by ICS) not found. Federico was informed.

These are all about the today’s meeting.

Have nice week ahead.

With best regards
