Dear Colleagues,

Following are the highlights of the Tuesday meeting dated 27/9/2005:

In the week ending 24-9-05, total No. of Magnet Test cycles performed - 14 (10 dipoles without magnetic measurements + 3 SSS without magnetic measurements and SSW + 1 Special SSS 606 with thermal cycle)

SSS 606 was signed for standby and all other magnets were signed for stripping.

Stephane informed that 1017 has to be checked with training cycle before warming up. This is to test performance of the magnet before and after 500 cycles. The procedure is made available.

Giorgio informed that power supply on TBA bench will be ready by 27/9/05 afternoon to achieve ramp rate of 100A/s for testing 1017 at 4.4K (special_7 test).

Richard has informed about new connection on top of CFBs. The cables between current leads and aluminium hold can remain connected during whole run of the magnet. AC and DC cables for respective tests now can be connected to aluminium holds instead of current leads.

Stephane informed that 2201 should have been signed for standby but was signed for stripping because of leak on magnet or CFB. It is to be investigated. ICS should be informed by CRYO.

Problems encountered by SM18op Team:

TBC: Magnet names not recognized by TEMA. Giorgio solved the problem.

TBE: Polarity switch was hard to change near Right position. Giorgio changed the polarity switch for the magnet.

TBC2: Magnet 2132 - HV test warm initial failed at Dipoles-Quench heaters v/s Ground due to higher capacitance. Richard looked at the results and gave OK as the values are only slightly high and are acceptable.

TBC1: magnet 2227 - signal for IAP after cold test not OK. But are OK when analysed with hfoff. Giorgio informed that John had replaced the potaim cards on cluster C and had forgot to give proper information in MTF. Hence the problem.

TBB2 : SSS215 - Prep 2.1 quench heater did not discharge when power supply is switched on. Giorgio changed the configuration of the matrix. The connector plate was changed.

TBD1 : SSS180 - Bad results for SSW. Guy found that the system is not responding correctly. This was because after switch off, when switched on configuration script has to be relaunched. On some racks it has to be launched separately. Eric is looking into this problem.

TBA1: 2195 - Diode test could not be launched. Giorgio changed the capacitor bank and then the test was conducted successfully.

TBB2 : SSS215 - 1/2 HF provoked quench did not show complete results as configuration file was not generated correctly. Giorgio advised to proceed further with the tests. He corrected the configuration files.

TBD1 : MM4 could not be launched. It was not possible to change the power supply from CD to EF. Giorgio changed it manually.

That's all for the Week

Have a nice week ahead
