Dear Friends,

Following was discussed during today's meeting (27/06/2006):

Test Coordinator : Stephane Sanfilippo

Equipment Support : Maryline, Guy

Total complete magnet tests : 14

Dipoles : 08

ARC-SSS : 04 ( 319 ROBTC )

IR-SSS : 01 (532 ROBTC)

: 02 (678: 113Hrs, 659: 240 Hrs)

Discussions on Eric's presentation :

1) Present bench configuration is (and for the moment will stay as) Dipole: 6 , Arc SSS: 3, Special SSS 3

2) Their was a cryo alarm on B cluster as one of the anti-cryostat heater cable was disconnected. Louis emphasised that no alarm should be disregarded or bypassed (as this can lead to unsafe condition). Necessary action has to be taken by the shift leader. He emphasised that the OP team has right to see the cryo screens and ask questions to the cryo operators.

He also added that if an alarm is quite frequent then it may be later on degraded to warning.

3) Depending on the type of problem encountered the shift leader shall take decision to either contact equipment support for instrumentation related problems or TC for magnet performance related issues

4) While carrying out HV test if there is a voltage mismatch error then there is a possibility of a megger problem. In this case Richard advised to change the HV rack and repeat the test.

5) Eric said that if quench analysis for corrector has to be carried out by OP then it would be easier to have it implemented in AQA analysis. As presently no corrector quench analysis is done by OP team. Georgio assured to look into it. In the mean time he volunteered to acquaint the op team members in analysing the corrector quench with lfoff

6) Halik informed that there will be a SSS 682 on D2 next, Georgio added that since it is a very special SSS, the Hardware Recognition will be switched off for some of the tests and these tests will be carried out by equipment support.

Halik further added that there will be a Q11 on B2 and if SSS634 gets completed by tomorrow morning then SSS 636 can be placed on D1

Discussions on Stephane’s presentation:

1) Stephane informed that Mario Di Castro will replace Marco for SSW analysis.

2) If incase of any leak problem Stephane asked the shift leader to collate/compare test data and discuss with TC, so that decision can be taken whether the magnet is ok or has to undergo thermal cycle.

3) Georgio is responsible for the calibration of T-Coil. He stated that if all the coils are showing uniform but wrong values for temperature then it is a problem of coils calibration and he has to be contacted.

4) Due to power failure the control room television screens were not functional.

5) Georgio informed that if there is a problem in TEMA which reports a "Hw Confgen Error" then it is due to communication failure with the MTF database. He recommended to retry the test after few minutes.

6) During corrector powering if it is observed that the power convertor trips during ramp up. in this case Georgio advised to check the inductance value on the power convertor application before calling equipment support.

7) SSS 502 was on bench for a long time due to CD clamp connection error. ICS rectified it on Friday.

8) Stretch wire measurement on SSS634 was held up because of configuration file error. Guy rectified it on Monday

9) Guy is responsible for informing ICS about TRU and Shaft Installation for MM.

10) Stephane informed that for a magnet with shaft if no special measurements nor persons responsible are mentioned then OP team should continue with normal MM1, MM2, MM3 measurements.

11) Fredrico/Georgio informed that on special SSS benches when the power convertor switches from ON state to OFF state the DAQ may get triggered as the inductance values between different magnets are quite disparate. The equipment support should be notified in such cases.

12) During corrector powering if the magnet quenches more than 9 times then Stephane asked the OP team to inform TC.

13) Louis requested the OP team to carry out resistance measurement on priority basis as at times the ICS takes a long time to disconnect the magnet

That is all for this week.

Have a bon week ahead..........

Regards,

Kuldeep Joshi
