Dear All

The following are the highlights of the meeting held on 26th April 2005.

1. Giorgio informed that the new test (PT2.2C) at warm for checking the correctness of clamping of voltage taps for corrector magnets of SSS has been put in "To do list" of Tema. This test can now be carried out on SSS.

2. John Paul of Cryo informed that the speed of cooling of magnets has increased. So the time between two quenches will be less now.

3. Marco informed that some modification has been done in the software to rectify the problem in launching HV test. Messages like " Cryo phase Not OK" & PLCSE & PLC HV does not allow to launch the test should not come now if there is really no cryo or safety related problem.

4. If in HV test , a message appears on the screen as " Capacitance not within expected range ' then check that all the cables are connected.

5. On TBC2, if HV test fails then it may be due to the moisture deposited on current leads. Call equipment support or one can continue with PT4, PT5.1 & PT5.2 if the problem is in PT2 as it will dry out the moisture as told by Giorgio. This is for TBC2 only.

6. Please note that the threshold for trigger for SSS is 100 mV and not 200 mV. Also heater may get discharged even before the voltage reaches 100 mV ( because of other lower threshold value which is for bus bar or current leads , also called symmetric quench ,especially in case of PT5.2), so this should be kept in mind while analysing the quench.

7. Giorgio informed that if nothing is going on Tema , then go to the local sun server and see if there is any alarm or message.

8. Guy of equipment support informed that there is problem with a card in the new SSW unit software and the unit will be functional only after receiving the card from Fermi Lab.

9. Some benches will be without magnet for short duration for carrying out modifications ( E2, D2, F1)

Have a nice day
