Dear Colleagues,

Following are the highlights of the Tuesday meeting dated 25/10/2005:

In the week ending 22-10-05, total No. of Magnet Test Cycles performed – 14 (10 dipoles, 3 Arc SSS and 1 special SSS).

SSS631: Stephan informed that Chaconsa will be performed in this.

TBD2 SSS604: The magnet is warm on Friday and still there on the bench because of “switching between Arc SSS and SSSS problem” and non availability of SSW unit No.2 (SSW at warm is to be done).

Nick suggested that both D1& D2 can be configured for SSSS and B1& B2 for Arc SSS so that problems due to switching and consequent delays can be avoided.

TBE2: Cryo leak (CFB) problem still continues.

Important points

TBA2 MBBL 3408: Shafts NOT to be installed until Stephan clears it. Please sign “No shafts needed “ in E-traveller. Consult with Stephan to know when to insert.

Inform Eqpt. Support whenever TT821 problem occurs and write about it in E-logbook.

Inform Eqpt. Support whenever the file is NOT generated during a quench/corrector powering quench/IAP.

The problem of non generation of quench file in SSS049 was due to disabling of trigger card done by Eqpt. support because of earlier test (corrector powering) on Special SSS. With the commissioning of new 120 Amps power supply for corrector powering of SSSS, configuration of 600A to power SSSS will not be required. Hence disabling of trigger card also will not be required and hence this problem may not occur again.

Georgio informed that commissioning of 120 Amps power supply has been done in B & D benches for SSSS

As per shut down planning, last magnet will be warm by 14/12/05 and water supply will be available till 19/12/05. Similarly at startup, the magnets will be in liquid phase on 01/02/2006 and hence water supply will be available from 23/01/2006.

Problems encountered by SM18op Team:

Mobic 2 :It displays the message “MTF temporarily not available”. But scanning was OK with Mobic1. Now it is OK

Mobic1 : USB port / driver is not working properly.

TBD1 SSS 292: Anticryostat alarm in AP2. Also there were problems with SSW results – some tests were repeated as many as seven times. The problem was with alignment of short and long anticrystat. The return wire was trapped inside. Also some pins of one connector of SSW system were damaged.

TBB2: New version of IAP was not working properly in local Workstation, but it was OK in TEMA. Also there were AQA alerts in the warm-up quench when it was analyzed in local work station. Georgio informed that the problem was due to corruption in some “vi” files in local work station.

On 21/10/05, there was cryo problem “supervision –HP compressor (software blocked)” Due to this, no cooling down or warm-up was possible in any of the bench.

TBA2 MBAL 1154: There was a problem in CDAP due to cryo loss and 7 hour loss was due to this.

That's all for the Week

Have a nice week ahead

Regards

Vasu
