Dear Colleagues,

Following are the main points discussed in today’s meeting (Tuesday, 23rd Jan’ 2007):

Test Coordinator : Arjan (This Week), Marco (next week)

Sandrine(29/01), Stephen(05/02), Marta(12/02),

Pierre(19/02), Marco(26/02)

Magnet Tests completed : 07 (6Stripped)

Dipoles : 4

ARC-SSS : 1 (SSS099)

500 Series : 2 (from last year)

Bench Configuration : Dipole: 6, ArcSSS: 2, IRSSS: 4

Main Points:

1. Nick presented the status of magnet tested last week and informed that we are doing quite well in dipole testing.

2. We have effectively tested only two magnets (2268 & 2407) in this week. Rest of the five magnets were tested in last week (099 & 2394), last year(519 & 516) and 2197 for only Cryo leak.

3. Nick told that as no spares on 500 series and SSS523 problem looks to be inter turn short so it has to be use as it is.

4. Dipole 2394 failed HV@CDBP so kept in standby for investigation. Richard informed that problem is with main magnet to ground and he is still on job to find the exact cause.

5. Nick also presented the list of Dipole and Arc SSS with their delivery dates which are still required for the machine.

6. Stephen informed that SSS361 has long Magnetic Measurement program with SSW.

7. Problem of SSS509 were also discussed as magnet reached ultimate but current was ramping down automatically. Giorgio informed that Power Converter was showing strange behavior as due to sudden ripple on converter it was putting it off. AB/PO changed some cards and parameters but still not sure with the reason. They also suspect that this may be due to Swiss side power supply so now they changed it on French side power supply. Further observation will be done when next magnet will come on the bench for training.

8. Stephen informed that on magnet SSS361 he need to have good field at the end and orbit dipole MM are delicate test so Guy is doing all the MM for the corrector in this magnet.

9. On Dipole MB2414: diode voltage tap found reverse during prep 2.1 & 2.2 test. Giorgio informed that connections of pin A1 & A2 on D20 connector inside the IFS box were reversed. Louis asked to inform responsible person for this problem as it has repeated 3-4 times since last few months.

10. Giorgio gave the explanation for generating 22 files for the corrector in magnet 509 . He informed that as no quench is allowed after 8 pm on main magnet so he did training in MQTL corrector along with AB/PO for solving power converter problem. Louis told to avoid so many extra quenches on the poor magnets. In future for the corrector magnet, Nick asked to Op team to discuss TC/expert before giving more then 15 quenches.

Note: Magnet with anticryostats (Dipole, SSS): WP04 & Wp07 need to be done by Op Team

That is all from Tuesday meeting, have a nice week ahead.

Cheers, Bye
