Dear Colleagues, Following are the highlights of the Tuesday meeting dated 20/9/2005: In the week ending 17-9-05, total No. of Magnet Test Cycles performed – 15 (14 dipoles and one thermal cycle. No SSS and no MM was performed last week). Out of the 14 dipoles, 2 magnets were signed for standby and remaining for stripping. Georgio informed that the ramp down rate for the special cycle test for MBBR1017 will remain as 125 A/s (NOT 200A/s) as the magnetic measurement is also done with cycling. It can only be increased up to 150A/s which may be incorporated later. Georgio informed that the Minimum Energy power supply problem on cluster A will be solved by 20/09/2005. The SSS coming on B1 will be special SSS, Q9 type. This will have stretch wire measurement. It will undergo training both at 4.2K and 1.9K. Special procedure for this will be provided. Problems encountered by SM18op Team: On TBB2 :MBBL1197 SPA occurred during PT8 (Fast De-excitation) due to cryo loss. TBE1: The magnet was cooling down after warm-up quench (Minimum energy-PT10) as the cryo didn’t get SMS when the magnet was signed for stand-by. Finally magnet was warmed by 4K SSL. TBE2: MBAL 2217: TEMA was not working on 15/09. Richard solved the problem. There were AQA warnings on voltage taps for the same magnet and Richard was contacted to get advice on that. It was understood by the operator that the magnet has to be kept cold after training for analysis of this problem and it was not warmed up accordingly. But Richard informed that he had asked “to continue” with the tests as it was only a warning. He further informed that in case of AQA warnings tests need not be stopped. On cluster B there was HW recognition problem. Richard told that this was due to conversion from Dipole to SSS and now it is solved. The problem of Profibus cable of HV rack (violet cable) still persists after modification. Richard told that he will check the cable connector and HV rack connector again. TBA2:MBBR1017: There was a problem to launch Mini-load line(magnetic measurement). It was informed that this was due to version problem of MMP. Now it has been modified to latest version “MMP660”. TBB2: SSS284 There was no label on the magnet. NC has been generated in WP14. That's all for the Week Have a nice week ahead Regards Vasu
