Dear Colleagues,

The details of the magnets tested during the week 13-2-2007 to 20-02-2007 are as follows:

Tests on 4 magnets were completed in this week.(2Dipoles and 2 SSS 500 series)

Tests run of SSS529 were also completed in this week after partial thermal cycle.

Training of all the magnets required for tunnel are completed.(Warm up quench on last magnet MB2394 on TBE1 is now over).

Superviser- Mr Stephane

Following are the minutes in brief:

1) This is the last meeting of SM18 op.

2) On bench TBE1:2994, first training was noticed to be noisy by Stephen. So though magnet reached ultimate in second training, he instructed to carry out one extra provoked quench.

3) Stephen also told that quench performance of SSS529 after partial thermal cycle is excellent.

4) Richard will upload the WP04 file for Magnet 2598 on TBA2.

5) All spare magnets (MBs) will have anti-cryostat installed on them. Standard tests + MM including MM4 are to be performed on them. In addition special tests will be carried on these magnets by specialists.

6) Some of spare magnets will not have diode connected to them so no R or L in scanning,

no PTE to be done on those.

7) In absence of diode, voltage taps will be open. So Eq. Support should be contacted before opening NC.

8) Spare MBs will come on bench A2, F2. There was discussion on which should be the third bench, whether E or C1. Equipment support requested Stephen to intimate them about third bench well in advance as they will require lot time and efforts in preparing it for MM.

9) SSS603 will come on bench B and SSS634 will come bench D.

10) Cluster C will not be used for testing until shutdown after mid March.

11) Cryo team will form 07h30 to 20h00 upto 15th March. Only one spare magnet is on bench (TBA2). Other spare magnets will come as and when they will be ready. So Nick will decide the op team shift timings and schedule after he returns from India.

11) Lastly Stephen thanked all the teams for five years of successful collaboration.

That’s all was discussed in the meeting.

OP TEAM also thanks all other teams and test co-ordinators for the timely support and co-operation in carring out the tests on the magnets.

Have a nice week ahead.

Best Regards
