Minutes of Tuesday Meeting on 19/09/2006

For this week Sandrine will be the TC

Magnets tested : 17 Tested , 14 Stripped

Dipoles : 8 (MM 1400)

SSS : 5 (ROBTC 339 (Standby), 298 (Thermal Cycle)

S4 : 1 (SSS 526, 192 Hrs with thermal cycle)

TBD1 is converted back for Special SSS

TBF2 : MBBR 1342: high helium leak detected and the magnet is warming up for investigation

WP04 error on F1 wrong test sequence was selected by ICS. Later rectified by selecting the proper test sequence

SSS 243 NC opened for open voltage taps

SSS 329 Voltage taps inversed on the CFB by ICS as during previous disconnections the labels were cutoff. The magnet had to be warmed up and cooled down again to rectify this error. Even cryo leak was observed on the sleeves.

Printer in the Control room is giving frequent problem, due to which work gets affected. Louis suggested to procure a new printer.

Stefan requested the TC and shift leader to verify for every new magnet whether it is scheduled for special measurement by checking on the following link http://lhc-dipcoor.web.cern.ch/LHC-dipcoor/tests/towardtests.html

SSS 139 will be coming on TBB2 for Field Advanced Measurement and studying ramp rate effect on field harmonics. Guy and Mario will be doing these measurements.

SSS 661 will come on D1 for SSW for Field strenght, roll angle and extra MM

Lables to be placed at convenient location on the anti cryostat so as to enable scanning.

TBE2 Oracle DB error was due to the wrong configuration of the POTAIM cards

MB1334 Y212 QH vs Gnd failed again. Probably due to Helium leak in the cover flange

TBB2:

Due to frequent quench on the clamp Cryo by default will increase the level in the current leads, resulting in condensation on the CFB. Because of which during HV OP team will face problems. So it is recommended to request the cryo to reduce the level and put a hot air blower on the CFB and then go ahead with the HV.

Cryo along with ICS are taking steps reduce occurance of TCLAux_x2 error on TBB

TBF the D20 cable was cut from the bench because of the ROCLA. repaired by equipment support.

That's all for last week, have a good week ahead

Regards,

Kuldeep
