Dear Colleagues,

Following are the main points discussed in the meeting at SM -18 conference room on 18 / 04/ 2006 at 9.00 AM

Total number of magnets tested : 17

Dipole : 10 ( 2245 -R)

Arc-SSS : 5

500 series : 1 ( 511)

IR SSS : 1 (627)

in the week from 11/04/2006 to 17/04/2006.

Test coordinator(s) : Mr. Marco / Mr. Pierre / Mr Stephan

Equipment Support : Mr. Richard Monpo

1) The alphanumeric display on cluster A, D, E & F is not working. For cluster D 1 & D2 , the display is showing the reverse and needs to be corrected. Mr.Richard informed that the programming for display needs to be corrected. Mr.L. Walkiers emphasized that it is important to have correct display to avoid accidents due to small mistakes and shift leader should take a note of it and get it corrected.

2) On TBA2 : Shaft was broken . Magnetic measurement can not be performed. Giorgio informed to replace the TRU.

3) The cold tests on all benches could not be performed because of cryo unavailability. The emergency stop was accidentally pressed.

4) Cluster B will be continued for ARC SSS.

5) On TBB1 : For SSS 231 many quenches for magnet occurred outside the magnet. The AQA did not detect the quench. Giorgio will look in to the problem.

6) The hardware recognition was switched off on cluster D by Richard to manually generate the configuration files when magnet S4-632 was installed.

7) Mr. Nickolas Sammut presented the purpose of various relevant tests on magnetic measurements like MM1, MM2 MM3 , extended rotating coil measurements. In discussion he and Mr. Stephan insisted that the magnetic measurements should not be stopped and it should always be given first priority from cryogenic point of view. Mr. V. Chohan informed that Shift leader decides the priority judiciously as per the tests and conditions of all other magnets. So it is always not possible to put the priority one for the bench having magnetic measurements.

Mr. L. Walkiers also commented that if the work on all other benches is well progressing the bench having magnetic measurement need not be given first priority.

8) On TBD1 : During training the HF IDDCT signal cable was found to be disconnected.

9) On TBC2 : For SSS 181 Richard had to swap two pins in a connector because ICS inverted two voltage taps on the main bus bars.

10) On TBD2 : Error present in IAP @ cold . Richard told to continue.

11) On TBD2 : For SSS 511, The DAQ could not able to recognize hardware. The temperature coefficient was not good. The file was generated manually.

12 )On TBB1 : SSS 231 AQA shown alarm for the warm-up quench due to Dir VT voltage jump exceeded 25 V on QI 1 & 2 .

13) On TBE2 : for 2228 , the triggers were detected on card 5 & 6 during IAP at warm.

14) ROCLA team asked the shift leader to sign paper traveler for one of the magnet movement. The shift Leader is authorized to sign ROCLA time sheet.

15) The offset adjustment on POTAIM cards should not be done if the cold tests are going on other bench of same cluster.

16) Giorgio informed that ICS people should be more careful while soldering the connectors.

That’s all for this week!

With Best Regards
