Minutes of Meeting at SM-18 on Tuesday 17th Oct 2006 at 9:00Hrs.

14 Magnets completed this week (8 Dipoles, 5 Arc-SSS & 1-500series), 5 stripped.

Supervisor: Stephane

Presently there is no arc SSS to be put on bench. So now there will be 4 benches for special SSS.

Magnet 662 will come on B2, bench being modified for that.

Magnet 679 will come on D2. It has SSW testing.

On SSS520 on D1, E-F corrector did not be train even after large no. of training cycles.

Also magnet did not train to nominal 550A in 9 trainings. Stephane advised to train it to 550A by increasing number of trainings beyond 9.

Stephane also advised to keep D1 on 1st priority during day time till Thursday for MM/SSW tests. Then F2 should be given 1st priority for same reasons.

He also told that always a quench must be performed before starting any special test on magnets unless explicitly asked not to perform the quench and the priority of the magnet should be 1st.

Cryo person informed that because of too many magnets cold, presently for few days (2-3) no consecutive big quenches should be performed.

Problem of loosing Cryo OK during special tests (MM) was brought to the notice of cryo team. They advised to keep priority 1 for such magnet.

Eq. Support was informed that on Magnet SSS339 on TBC2, Q-loc was not recorded in SMTMS. Also quench location was to be attached by Eq. Support (Giorgio).

Nic informed that target of testing 1232 MBs for LHC ring should be best attempted to be completed by Dec 2006. Thereafter testing will continue to meet target of testing 1250 MBs (including spares) but work load and test resources will be significantly reduced.

He also informed that Arc SSS and other special SSS should be tested as and when they get ready for testing after assembly.

These were important points in the meeting today. Have a nice week ahead.
