Dear Colleagues,

Following are the highlights of the Tuesday meeting held on 16 May 2006:

1) Magnet Test cycles: 15 complete magnet test cycles were performed. 11 - Dipoles, 2 - Arc SSS, 1 - 500 series (504) and 1 - 600 series(609)

2) OP team should be careful while ticking for the tests carried out on the white board. For MBAR2236 on A1 bench, MM2 and MM3 tests were ticked as over. But in the later shift it was found that the tests were not actually carried out. This was noticed by the expert on the following day when the shaft was being removed from the magnet and there was no result file for the magnetic measurements in the database for those tests.

3) Louis Walkiers advised OP team to give higher test priority on Special SSS compared to dipoles whenever possible. This is for the reason that there are more special SSS waiting to be tested and relatively few test benches available for them.

Major problems encounterd by SM18 OP Team & their solutions:

1) Problem with HV mobile racks: It was noticed during insulation tests with mobile rack MY 92 that the actual voltage applied to the magnet was 4000V while the test requires only 180V. This was due to faulty megger on that rack and is being replaced. If such problem occurs on any HV mobile rack, the shift leader should leave message on the white board so that the faulty HV rack is not used till the problem is sorted out by the equipment support.

2) Georgio informed that for fixing communication problems with PLC or DAQ hardware from TEMA, these devices can be reset by the OP team (generally for problems in the night shift) after quitting all applications in TEMA and the local server. However, in any case, the local server should not be reset by the OP team. The equipment support should be contacted for any local server problem.

That is all for the previous week.

Best Regards
