Dear Colleagues,

Following are the highlights of the Tuesday meeting held on 15 Nov 2005:

1) Magnet Test cycles : 16 complete magnet test cycles were performed.

The breakup is as follows : 11 dipole + 4 SSS + 1 SSSS ( special SSS )

2) In the coming week some Ansaldo magnets will be tested for the quench performance at 4.4 K .

3) For MBAL3139 special test will be decided by Pierre and TC.

4) There was cryo leak on E2 bench . Magnet MBBL2201 was shifted to A1 and only leak test is to be done .

5) Problem of switching the protection mechanism for SSS and SSSS was also discussed.

Problem encounterd by SM18 operations Team & their solutions :

1) MBAR 2248 on TBF1 : TT821 was showing 1.552K . NC was generated in CDW2. Equipment support was called magnet was already warm.

Nick has instructed all temperature discrepencies (TT821 )while launching the test should be carefully noted down and equipment support must be informed before warming up.

2) On TBE1 polarity switch gear was bent .It was corrected by Giorgio.

3) There was SPA while doing test at 12000 A on TBC2. If it not because of cryo loss,it must be reported to AB/PO with the help of equipment support.

Nick has directed operational team to immidiately inform equipment support of SPA and quench during PT8.

4) There was problem of corrupt vi files during MMP for MB3376.Marco was informed regarding this. Richard told that this may be bacause of installation of new version. If prompted by the software, we should always select "do not save changes".

5)Steaphane wanted cryo to be checked carefully before launching LHC cycle.

6)If there are many magnets for the ICS and they are not responding then Nick or TC should be contacted.

Nick told if ICS is not answering in the night then operation team can wake them up if they are sleeping( They have official one hour of rest time )

7) For calling Guy ,we should use his direct number as the other phone is stuck up with Salem.

Thats all for the previous week

Have a nice cold testing week ahead

Best Regards

Sanjeev Sharma
