Dear Colleagues,

Following are the main points discussed in the meeting at SM-18 conference room on 11th April, 2006 at 9a.m.

Total number of magnets: 16

Dipoles : 8

Arc-SSS : 5 (235 Reteated)

IR-SSS : 3 (One 500 series, 620, 644)

were tested in the week from 4th April, 2006 to 10th April, 2006.

Test coordinator: Mr. Pierre

Equipment Support: Mr. Frederico

General

On bench D1, SSS672 there was problem of Field strength measurement. This is coming 40-45 instead of around 300. Guy is investigating the problem. Following were suggested:

1.1. Only one or two trials per measurement should be done by OP team. Then experts shall be called.

1.2. Marco and Stefan shall provide the list of transfer functions for all different types of magnets.Transfer function is different for different types of magnets.

1.3. Marco, Nicoloy and Guy is responsible for co-ordinating transport of stages for Stretch wire measurement.

1.4. X and Y result table should have similar values in role angle measurement.

2. J. Harik informed that all Q4, Q5, Q6 and Q9 types of speciall SSS shall come on D1 bench. Lyra test for these magnets shall be done by MTM connection team, not by OP team. All other special SSS Lyra test shall be done by Op team.

3.MTM meechanics finish their job by 4:00pm during weekend (Friday). In case OP team is supposed to do Lyra test for special SSS, it should be done before 4:00pm.

4. L. Walckiers suggested that OP team should do warm electrical tests for Special SSS on priority basis.

3. Coming Friday and Monday, because of Easter holiday, there will be lack of activities in SM18.

4. L. Walckiers informed that B1 shall have Arc SSS this weekend because of lack of staff during this weekend

5. Nick suggested that OP team should give cold priorities depending upon the bench condition irrespective of whether it is special SSS, normal SSS or dipole.

6. S4 511 is a left polarity magnet although as per database it is right polarity magnet. Stefan suggested that NC should be opened in case of polarity problem of the magnets.

7. Georgio informed that adopter in series with P11 connector, like FA or FB type in Normal SSS, has to be used for focusing type special SSS.

Problem faced by OP team

1. Special SSS on D1 S4672 came on 3rd April and waited till 7th April 13:00 hrs. for IAP at warm.

2. MBAR 2245: Shaft could not be installed on 6th April night as the support for reference quad for previous magnet 2251 was not removed. Nick suggested that in case of special test, installation and removal of all accessories should be carried out by the people who is carrying out those special test. In case anything is still left after the test is over, OP team shall contact the co-ordinator of that special test sequence.

3. IAP problem on C and E cluster. Georgio informed that some voltage tap cards are old and they need some bridges during transfer from one bench to the other. Sometimes there are IAP problems on these two clusters because of these bridges.

4. IAP problem on S4 672: Georgio informed that there was a labeling problem when the magnet came to SM18. He changed the voltage tap connection on the top of CFB. These changes then created problem during manual AQA analysis where signals were inverted. Georgio subsequently changed the connection on the top of CFB to rectify the problem.

5. S4 627 on TBB1:AQA Alarm: MIITS Manual limit 2.5 for I = 5.6kA. Georgio informed that it is AQA problem. The software is not configured for all types of special SSS.

6. SSS 335 on TBB2: During PT8.2 there was a problem with power convertor selection by the software. It selected power converter for 600A instead of 14KA power convertor. Georgio will look into the software to fix the bug.

Best regards.
