Dear Colleagues, The details of the magnets tested during the week 30-1-2007 to 05-02-2007 are as follows: Tests on 2 magnets were completed in this week, 1 dipole( 2328 signed for stripping) and 1 SSS500 series magnet (523- standby). Priorities were given for the magnets 2263,2326,2424,361 and 356.Special tests on SSS356 and MBAR 2326 are finished. Superviser- Mr Stephane Following are the minutes in brief: 1) This week eventhough only tests on 2 magnets were completed, there were many magnets to be removed from the bench. This was due to the priority and special measurements on certain magnets, other magnets could not be removed. Also ICS team has 3 persons and they are fully loaded. 2) Stephan explained the present status of magnets on the bench and problems during the week. On TBF2 magnet 2267 will have special measurements by Nicolus and will stay till the end of the week. Louis pointed out that this magnet is required for the tunnel and special tests can be performed on spare magnets also. 3) Halik mentioned the last dipole required for the machine to be put on A1/E1 which is MB-2394 . The new magnets expected are SSS 530, 603 and 064. In total there shall be 7 spare magnets(5 dipoles and 2 SSS) to be put on the benches. 4) Magnet SSS523 is finally stripped off eventhough it is not good magnet since it is required for the machine. It will be used during initial runs upto 2 kA current. The magnet shall be ultimately rejected and replaced with a new magnet during long shut down in 2008. 5) There was a cryo problem on monday evening 5/02/2007. The temperature of cold magnets were not falling bellow 3 Deg K. The problem was sorted out on the tuesday morning. 6) There was anticryostat problem on bench-A2, i.e. problem of charging AC from MTF. Stephane asked for the investigation. It was found that Oracle bug which impedes to charge AC coeficient from MTF to PLC. Due to this reason cryo team has considered magnet WITHOUT AC, so AC never warmed from the begining. 7) The leak was found in a capilary of magnet 2425. The magnet was reopened and joint changed.
