Dear Colleagues,

Following are the highlights of the Tuesday meeting held on 04th October 2005:

1) 16 complete magnet test cycles were performed. The breakup is as follows:

13 dipoles (Magnet 1017 with MM and special tests for over 2 weeks) + 3 SSS (Without SSW and MM) + 0 SSSS

2) There is a CFB leak on E2 bench. Cryo informed that it will take a week to detect and rectify the leak. Till then there will not be a new magnet on E2.

3) There were only 2 repeat magnets in the month of September.

Problems encountered by the SM18op Team:

1) During SSW on bench B1, the wire broke 10 times during field strength measurements. It was pointed out that installation of wires on the SSW stages is relatively more difficult than the previous arrangement. Nikholai would discuss with GHH about these operational problems for SSW.

2) It was pointed out that it was difficult to do HV and resistance measurements on the D cluster due to equipment (For SSW etc lying around). It was suggested that Richard be informed about this so that this can be avoided in the future.

3) There was a temperature sensor (TT821) problem on the C1 bench. It was suggested that whenever this problem arises, it is mentioned in the Elogbook and the equipment support in charge is informed.

4) A discussion took place regarding a Memo addressed to Louis Walkiers (the memo was regarding data validation problems for the new AQA version 6.30 and difficulty in the instrument analysis procedure of SSS). It was pointed out by Siemko that the new AQA version is under validation. Giorgio informed that a IAP version for SSS is under development.

This was all for the prevous week, have a nice week ahead.

Regards,

Jaydeep Gore
