| Dear Colleagues, Following are the highlights of the Tuesday meeting dated 6/9/2005: Total No. of Magnet Test Cycle – 14 including MBBR 3388 on TBC2 (13 dipoles 1 with MM+ 1 SSS) On TBC2 Magnet MBBR 3388 was removed from the bench without training as there was bad insulation problem in quench heater. Connation time for ICS is more than the 2 times of expected time. Magnet on TBA1 3333 will be tested with SSW and Shaft Special SSS 4s606 at TBD2 will be tested with Chakonsa and SSW Magnet 1017 is a special magnet which will undergo long term stability test and other special tests will probably come next week. Important points for Testing Magnets with Shaft: If a Magnet is not a repeat and supposed to be tested with shaft and if there is any delay in shaft installation training can be performed as shaft is required only for the magnetic measurement. Quench localization is required for the repeat magnets only. Shift leaders have to check with the ICS regarding the shaft installations and decide about the cold test. Normally Qloc position of previous magnetic measurement works well for Qloc compensation during IAP, if it does not work then IAP for Q-loc compensation have to be repeated after MM1. Points Regarding Safety: Shift leader is incharge of the safety in Sm18 hall (SLIMOS : Shift leader in matters of Safety). He has to take care of Safety issues like no magnets or ROCLA should be park in front of any of the entrance, in such situation , shift leader should ask ICS for the necessary action and if it does not work matter should be taken to the Test -Coordinator. He must not allow any visitor/visitors near the test bench etc in normal situation. He must ensure that the entrance gates are locked during the week ends and holidays. He must take care of all the points which may hamper any short of safety Problem encountered by SM18op Team: On TBA2 :AQA was not possible from control room as complete data was not exported from local sun station it was done on local sun work station. According to Salem data was exported before the completion of the acquisition. On TBE : while launching Prep 2.1, 2.2 at TBE1 Power QH_Ok interlock problem was observed. Salem changed the Bench from E1 to E2 and then Back to E1. Giorgio informed that the problem must be noted if it happens again so that repairing of the interconnection box will addressed. On TBC: Polarity Switch is locked, require 3 days of repair , may be next week repair will take place . On TBC2: PLCSE was blocked , a short circuit was found on digital input, it recovered in its own. That's all for the Week Happy quenching for the running week Regards Sudheer Singh |
